I did it! I saw Rent, and it was glorious. Details sometime when I'm awake.

All right, finally awake again. For those of you who missed the initial post, I went to see Rent in Raleigh on January 2. It was good, but everyone's a critic these days, and so am I.

I kind of disapproved of the copious and obvious use of body mics. I (putting myself in the shoes of the director) might have made some sort of attempt to hide the fact that the actors were wearing body mics. But I'm told that it's this way for a reason. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also really annoying: the video monitor behind us kept glowing and being annoying.

But overall it was very good. The music was good. The lights were cool. The acting was decent. All in all, there's not much to say about it.
