Theatre
This is a repository for anything to do with Theatre. Most of the plays were originally live plugs for the plays, but when the plays passed, they were modified into reflections. The original page is, in many cases, included below the reflection under a horizontal line and the heading "Original Document."
General Interest
- My Theatrical Resumé - A list of shows I've done, and what I've done for them. A handy list to keep around, because it just keeps growing.
Individual Productions I've Worked On
- How I Learned to Drive - Creepy play with pretty sweet lighting.
- Agnes of God - My first real lighting design. I think in turned out well, but you never know. It was definitely a real challenge.
- Real Rhodes - A show that is used for Orientation at Rhodes. It was probably better than I remember.
- Julius Caesar - Shakespeare, outdoors, in August. You got to love Jonah.
- La caja misteriosa - A traditional mexican shepherds' play performed each year at Rhodes.
- The Tempest - Shakespeare's classic, creatively interpreted by the McCoy Theatre.
- Metamorphoses - One Song Productions' culminating accomplishment of the 2004-2005 season. It came off quite nicely.
- The Secret Garden - My last high school play. I've done a dozen of them, and I'll miss every single one (except for Dark of the Moon).
- On the Verge - A chronicle of my On the Verge experience as Production Stage Manager.
- 1776 - All about why I auditioned for 1776 and what part I got.
- Toby - The world premiere of a rock opera and the first play I was fired from.
- Comedy of Errors - Kids and Shakespeare? This was better than I expected.
- Sweeney Todd - Another play I worked on. It's about an insane (indeed, demon) barber who kills his clientele and then sends them down a chute into a meat pieshop where his cohort, Mrs. Lovett, bakes them into pies. Of all the shows that Hanes Theatre has produced in my time, I am proudest of having been involved with this one.
- Much Ado About Nothing - A One Song Production that I assisted with in early 2004. It ended up a good show.
- The Importance of Being Earnest - A play for which I designed the lighting.
- Byuioo - A play I worked on. Written in gibberish by Nate Weida, two of its shows were snowed out, but the two we had were a great success.
- Pirates of Penzance - A collection of thoughts about the first play I've acted in since second grade.
- The Phantom Tollbooth - An adaptation of Norman Juster's novel performed by One Song.
- Dark of the Moon - A play about witches, love, and prejudice. I don't remember much of it.
- Nunsense - Something I wrote about lighting design on Nunsense after the fact.
- All in the Timing - An article about the best One Song Producion ever (in my opinion).
- My Fair Lady - Worst preview night ever!
- The Mousetrap - The show that addicted me to The Console.
- Children of Eden - A retrospective on my first high school play.
